Samia Ahmed comes from Sudan, currently associated with Sudanese Women Empowerment for Peace and the Sudanese women coalation and is one of the founders of the Nile Peace Voyage Sudanese Youth Peace Initiative. Samia is trained in conflict resolution and analysis, but believes that deeper examination of community methodologies should be considered and involved in the peace process. She believes that empowering women, children and youth in conflict-torn societies is the key to achieving ownership and effective participation towards positive social transformation.

Samia has connected with many organizations on national, regional and African levels interested in human security and peace building. She is working to build coalitions and networks of civil society organizations at the local and international level.
