I have worked in international development nearly 30 years across the full range of experience across sectors and fields including education and health, gender and development, social inclusion, monitoring and evaluation, capacity development, peace and conflict and governance. I have worked extensively in conflict- and crisis-affected contexts. I am a trained mediator and a ‘Do No Harm’ facilitator. I have knowledge of and experience with a range of aid modalities/forms of aid, sector-wide approaches and international conventions and directions and development targets. I have worked with a range of UN agencies, international financial institutions, bilateral donor organizations, and international non-government organizations throughout Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Pacific.

Within the education sector, I have worked in all sub-sectors and in both the formal and non-formal education systems and at all levels (national and sub-national to the grass roots level) with education administrators, teacher educators, teachers and community groups. I am a K-12 licensed teacher and a specialist in language education (including mother tongue-based, bilingual, multilingual, second and foreign language education and early grade reading), policy and planning and in inclusive education. I have a doctorate in International Development with concentrations in comparative and international education, peace and conflict studies, monitoring and evaluation (including independent, collaborative and participatory evaluation) and community development and a Master of Arts in Second Languages and Cultures Education, specifically in the areas of language education, policy and planning and applied linguistics.
