Please share a short bio for yourself. This should be no more than 3-4 short paragraphs.
Cornelia Janke is an education and management specialist who, for over 20 years, has been helping to manage change in Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and Latin America and the Caribbean. Ms. Janke is a flexible and responsive leader and technical expert who can effectively assess, innovate, plan, implement, and adapt programs to the unique circumstances of conflict and crisis-affected environments. Through her work in places such as Afghanistan, Haiti, Rwanda, Kosovo, Timor Leste and South Sudan, she has demonstrated a commitment to creating effective linkages between policy and practice, using practical research and communication as tools. Ms. Janke’s experience with education in conflict and crisis-affected environments led to her participation in INEE. She has represented EDC on the INEE Working Group on Education and Fragility, and served as co-chair of the group from 2010-11.

Since 2014, Ms. Janke has served as the Director of the USAID Education in Crisis and Conflict Network (USAID ECCN), a community of practice composed of USAID education staff, implementing partners, and others working to improve policy, research and practice related to education in crisis and conflict-affected environments. USAID ECCN promotes knowledge generation and sharing among practitioners, policy makers and researchers related to USAID’s Education in Crisis and Conflict Goal: Improved educational opportunities for learners in crisis and conflict-affected environments. USAID ECCN complements the excellent contributions of other networks, such as INEE, by providing resources to a smaller, more USAID-related community while also gathering and distributing key information to larger audiences.
