I am an education specialist with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), based in the country office of Panama. I previously supervised the education portfolio in Trinidad and Tobago and Suriname. Prior to joining the IDB in 2008, I worked as a consultant and researcher with UNICEF and international NGOs primarily on initiatives for vulnerable children and youth in Latin America and the Caribbean, Middle East and Africa; and as a program manager in education in Eastern Europe and the Caucasus. I was a Peace Scholar with the US Institute of Peace and have a Doctorate in International Educational Development from Teachers College, Columbia University.
