Something To Believe In-MGCY Rio+20 Declaration (ENGLISH).mov

This video was created by us and for us, initially on the occasion of the International Day of Youth. We want to continue to share the video, and the key here is to share with ALL so that we may continue to celebrate as long and loudly as we can.

The purpose of the video is to inspire, encourage, affirm, and move young people towards action, equipped with a visual road map we can all affirm and recognize as our own. We are all too aware of the challenges that our generation and future generations face in issues ranging from unemployment to violence towards women to environmental depredation ad infinitum.

However, I want to ask you all to help share the video because it is an act of hope. Even in the midst of our work and our struggle we must continue to celebrate who we are, where we've come from, and where we are going, lest we risk forgetting why it is that we fight in the first place. We must continue to remind every single young person worldwide that they have the capacity and the tools to change their circumstances. That they are good, that they can be strong, that they are beautiful (and defined by most cameras and their elite usually want to do so) and that they are worth celebrating. That to be a human being is to reach towards our freedom in states of solidarity and equilibrium, and it is equally to be able to dance together, eat together, and enjoy our common features and our diversity.

So help us today to keep spreading our universal message of hope. Help us celebrate all of these things together.

The video is available now in Portuguese as well and will be available in French soon.
