Martha Llanos
Please share a short bio for yourself. This should be no more than 3-4 short paragraphs.
MARTHA LLANOS is from Lima, Peru, however she considers herself a world citizen. Since her childhood she was interested in knowing different people from different cultures, she has been traveling extensively. She is a PhD in Developmental and Social Psychology. Her permanent life mission is to contribute to the flourishing of people children, youth and women; she has pioneer work in the field of early childhood development and was the first UNICEF Regional Advisor for Latin America and the Caribbean. Her extensive contribution to the well being of children and families worldwide was recognized with the Nathalie Masse award from the International Children Centre in France.

She is currently involve in human rights in schools, she uses arts as social change, she is a peace activist and goes around the world promoting intergenerational dialogues and understanding for the richness of diversity.

Martha initiated her professional life as researcher in the field of poverty and human development, patterns of child rearing, family and school values and interactions. Currently she is an International Consultant devoted to evaluation and planning of early childhood and youth programmes and development of policies for the fulfillment of children’s rights

She is involved in the theme of” Resilience” the capacity of human beings to overcome and transform adversity.


She loves music, dance, and theatre and is a storyteller.
