I have been passionately empathetic in one way or another, my whole life. As a child I was always referred to as being "overly sensitive", which I perceived to be a weakness. Only when I began to really dig deep into the meaning of the word as an adult did I realize that it is actually a blessing. Empathy allows me the ability to be strong and peaceful in the face of conflict. It empowers me to have the courage to reach out into the world and know that no matter who or what I encounter, being alive on earth offers an immediate connection of likeness, thereby setting any differences that that exist into the background from the get go. I feel everyone is teachable when it comes to empathy...but it will take those of us who can do it naturally, to offer the teaching.
I believe that mankind must overcome and master empathy. I believe it is a pivotal missing link along the path of evolution of our species. I fear that without it, humankind will perish.

Hello Cynthia, trust you are doing very fine. I just read through your profile and i must say i am honored meeting you here. I a youth civil society advocate from Cameroon. With the recent terrorist insurgence in our country and the sub-region I have decided to engage in an innovative youth capacity building training on youth action in non-violent, conflict prevention and peace building in Cameroon. with over 7 years volunteering and working with youths I am convinced that engaging youths in the peace building process would be a way out .

I was really hoping you could coach and direct me in this quest of mine.

THANKS AND HOPE TO READ FROM YOU.
