Catalina Talero currently serves as Executive Director and board member of the One World Youth Project. A Fulbright Scholar, Catalina has specialized in civic engagement and education management for nearly fifteen years. Her M.A. is from George Washington University in Human & Organizational Management. Prior to that, she earned an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The University of Toronto and a B.A. in Liberal Art from Waterloo University, also in Canada.

Most recently, she was a consultant Managing Director of the Public Leadership Education Network. Previously, she served as Director of Programs for Global Kids in Washington, D.C. working with the Office of the State Superintendent and other partners to create global curriculum for secondary schools that were fully aligned with Common Core. Prior to that, she worked for the Office of Postsecondary Education of the United States Department of Education. Her Title VI portfolio included National Resource Centers (NRC) and Foreign Language Area Studies (FLAS) programs in Latin America and Canada.

In the past, Catalina founded her own company for which she won contracts with clients like Constrat Inc. designing and implementing original digital curriculum for the Inter-American Development Bank with a special focus on education resources for Afro-Descendant and Indigenous students in the Americas -especially the Andean Region. Other clients include the International Center for Alcohol Policies where she conducted evaluations of Salvadoran and Kenyan domestic violence prevention programs. Other clients/collaborators include CentroNía, Peace First (Harvard), Bogotá Classrooms of Peace/Aulas de Paz (Universidad de los Andes). She serves as a DC Advisory Board Member to Peace First.

Talero is at the forefront of a new generation of bilingual scholars, researchers, and data management specialists. Topics of interest include: global citizenship, civic engagement, service learning, closing the achievement gap, women and leadership, democracy in the classroom, teacher enrichment, and job readiness training.
