Please share a short bio for yourself. This should be no more than 3-4 short paragraphs.
Mr. Arun George is an international award winning young entrepreneur who has lived and worked in India and Australia. Mr. George was born in Trivandrum the capital of Kerala state where he did his BA in Eng Litt and LLB. He soon after which migrated to Australia where he obtained his Dual Masters Degree in MBA and Master of Dispute Resolution & Conflict Resolution from James Cook University (JCU), Queensland. He now holds an Australian Permanent Residency and divides his time between India and Australia.

Mr. George is a passionate advocate of promoting environmental sustainability which has lead him to be chosen as the Inaugural President of the Indian Chapter of the US based non profit known as the International Dark Sky Association (IDA) which is a global organisation campaigning against the hazards of Light Pollution and reducing carbon emissions. He is also the Inaugural Chairman of EMerge Alliance South Asian Industrialising Region (EASAIR), representing the South Asian regional group as part of the EMerge Alliance, which is a US based non profit promoting the sustainable use of DC power in buildings and improving energy efficiency. He is also the Convener of TiE Kerala SIG 'Social Entrepreneurship'. In 2013, Mr. George was honoured to be selected as the 1st Indian to win the prestigious 'Dark Sky Defender' Award instituted by the US based 'International Dark Sky Association' for his valuable contributions towards spreading awareness about the hazards of Light Pollution on ecology and attaining outdoor lighting energy efficiency.

He is currently the Founder CEO of Avant Garde Innovations – a Distributed Renewable Energy start up with branches in India and Australia which is established with the goal of ending energy poverty in growing economies through the exclusive implementation of green innovations in the sphere of Renewable energy and Clean technology. Avant Garde Innovations has currently developed a Patent Pending technology for Small Wind Turbines which was shortlisted as a semifinalist amongst the Top 20 Cleantech innovations in India for the Global Cleantech Innovations Programme 2015 organised by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), Cleantech Open USA (World's Largest Cleantech Accelerator based in Silicon Valley), Global Environment Facility-GEF and Ministry of MSME, Gov of India.

As a recognition to the various cleantech initatives of Mr. George in India, he was invited to the United Nations Head Quarters in New York amongst a select group of 150 special invitees from across the world which included heads of states of various countries and CEO's of Facebook & Google etc, and also as one amongst the 10 invitees from India, to attend the watershed announcement of the new UN Sustainable Development Goals. This historic announcement of the
new UN Global Goals for the next 15 years until 2030 were made by the UN General Secretary Ban Ki-Moon during the Climate Week events from September 21-28 of 2015.
